First Monday Trade Days may be an annual event known throughout East Texas, but that doesn't stop hundreds of thousands of people from traveling to in the Canton area Canton for 4 days every month. They are open from Thursday until Saturday, until the beginning of the month on the First Monday every month, hundreds of vendors are on hand offering a wide range of shopping opportunities.


It was first introduced more than century ago as a flea-market has turned into home to some of most exciting, cutting-edge furniture, antiques and collectibles purchased anywhere. In the last 150 years, lots of things have changed in this Original First Monday Park; however, the authentic, home-grown friendships between vendors buyers are the main reason people are always returning.

According to the First Monday Trade Days website, it is one of the oldest and largest ever-running outdoor flea market of its kind in the United States.


According to folks around selling on markets, concept in First Monday Trade Days started in the year 1850 when the circuit judge would take a journey from Canton on the 1st Monday of each month. The entire county came to the town to participate in their court cases. In  canton first monday , residents would bring their own belongings, whether it was livestock, food items, or other original items to sell or trade. Then in 1965, First Monday outgrew the town's Town Square so it was moved to its current grounds. The rest is history...


First Monday Trade Days is comprised of a wide range of private sellers . The chances are that no matter how many times you've visited it's impossible to truly see it all. The flea market is set over hundreds of acres, offering more than 700,00 square yards of shopping.


Participating in First Monday is free, but the majority parking areas surrounding the trade area charge $5 for parking
